Case Studies
The case studies below highlight projects I have delivered, outlining the challenges organisations faced and the practical approaches taken to address them.

Global Real Estate Organisation
The client was struggling to translate high-level net zero commitments into practical action across its global office network, with local teams lacking a consistent approach to planning and tracking carbon reduction activities.
I developed a written Net Zero Toolkit alongside an Excel-based Carbon Reduction Plan (CRP) tool. The toolkit explained the organisation’s net zero commitments and guided offices on how to build their own decarbonisation plans using the CRP tool, creating a consistent framework for carbon reduction planning across the network.

BM Steel
BM Steel had a clear ambition to achieve net zero but required guidance on carbon accounting, recognised standards and best practice to translate this ambition into a credible and structured plan.
I delivered a net zero programme including carbon accounting, SBTi-aligned target setting and abatement planning. Through stakeholder workshops and technical assessment, I identified priority reduction opportunities and developed a clear net zero roadmap outlining key actions and timelines. I also supported certification under the CarbonNeutral Protocol for selected steel products and continue to provide annual carbon accounting support.

Large UK Financial Organisation
A major UK public institution required an audit of its historic emissions footprint and the development of a defensible carbon inventory to support a credible carbon reduction plan aligned with government requirements.
I audited the organisation’s historic emissions and developed a Scope 1, 2 and 3 inventory in line with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. Through stakeholder workshops and analysis, I identified priority reduction opportunities and developed a Carbon Reduction Plan compliant with UK government PPN requirements. This established a robust emissions baseline and a defensible plan able to withstand regulatory, audit and media scrutiny.

Greenvale
Greenvale required a robust carbon baseline and credible science-based targets, including Forest, Land and Agriculture (FLAG) emissions, while managing increasing external reporting requirements.
I led carbon accounting across Scopes 1, 2 and 3, coordinating data collection across operations and applying appropriate methodologies where data was limited. I modelled near-term, long-term and FLAG-aligned targets and led the full Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) submission. I continue to support Greenvale’s sustainability reporting across multiple frameworks.

Major UK Cash & Carry Wholesaler
A large UK wholesale and cash-and-carry business was required to report under the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) framework but needed support understanding the requirements and how to implement them in practice.
I carried out a TCFD gap analysis across governance, strategy, risk management, and metrics and targets, developed a climate risk management process and introduced scenario analysis to assess future risks. I also built a full Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions inventory. This enabled the business to meet its TCFD reporting obligations and establish processes for ongoing climate risk management.

UK Aerospace Manufacturing Company
A UK aerospace manufacturer needed to establish a credible Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions baseline and develop a clear pathway to net zero, including addressing complex supply chain emissions.
I carried out a Scope 3 materiality assessment and developed a full carbon inventory. Using abatement modelling, I assessed the cost and impact of different reduction measures and implemented a system to support ongoing data monitoring and SECR reporting. The findings were consolidated into a net zero roadmap setting out priority actions and timelines, providing the business with a clear plan for progressing towards net zero.
